    何丁博士畢業于佛羅裡達國際大學,随後進入喬治亞大學進行博士後的研究工作,為生物化學和分析化學領域青年專家學者。受深淵中心邀請來校進行學術交流,并于17日在海洋學院進行學術報告(内容如下),誠邀感興趣的教師學生前來交流。

報告主題:Application of Biomarkers and Compound Specific Isotopes for Assessing Organic Matter Dynamics in Coastal Ecosystem

The Abstract: Particulate organic matter (POM) is an important carbon component in C cycling and controls a variety of biogeochemical processes. Dissolved organic matter (DOM) is another complex mixture of organic compounds and represents the largest reservoirs of carbon (C) on earth. There is a diverse array of both autochthonous and allochthonous OM sources in coastal ecosystems. My major research interest is to improve understanding of the sources and dynamics of POM and DOM in the coastal ecosystem. A comprehensive study on the sources, dynamics and fate of OM in such ecosystems is essential in advancing our understanding of C cycling and better constraining the global C budget. OM sources and dynamics are also affected by hydrological changes (e.g. seasonal change, climatological factors change and any combination of these changes). In order to further understand the effects of hydrological changes on OM sources and dynamics in coastal ecosystem, multi-proxies were applied, including molecular, bulk and compound specific stable isotope (carbon and hydrogen) proxies to address these issues.
